WHAT IS THIS?

God Is Wearing Black is a folk horror apparel imprint. We design wearable artifacts based on pre-Christian European mythology — Slavic, Alpine, Dutch, and adjacent traditions. Every design is rendered from public domain sources and printed on heavyweight garment-dyed cotton.

WHO MAKES THE DESIGNS?

Each illustration is engraved by hand by our founder. We work from public domain woodcuts, manuscripts, and folk art predating modern copyright. The figures are real. The folklore is real. The interpretation is ours.

WHAT IS A "VOLUME"?

Each collection is released as a numbered volume of twelve figures. Vol. I is The Old Country. Vol. II is in development. Volumes are not seasonal — they remain available unless sold out or retired.

WHAT'S THE FABRIC?

Comfort Colors 1717 — heavyweight 6.1 oz garment-dyed 100% ring-spun cotton. The garment is dyed before printing, giving it a soft, lived-in feel from the first wear. The fabric is pre-shrunk and gets better with washing.

HOW DOES IT FIT?

Unisex regular fit, true to size. Not oversized. Not slim. Reference our size guide for measurements. Most customers wear their normal size.

HOW LONG DOES SHIPPING TAKE?

Each piece is made to order. Production takes 3–7 business days. US shipping is 3–5 days after production. International is 10–20 days after production. See our shipping page for full details.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Yes — worldwide. International orders may incur customs fees on arrival, which are not included in our shipping rates.

CAN I RETURN OR EXCHANGE?

Because we produce on demand, we don't accept returns for sizing or change of mind. Defective or misprinted items are replaced free. See our returns page.
