The ritual has ended. The candles are still burning. The celebrants are not here. The forest is not quite empty.
You found this place by accident. You will not find it again.
The altar at the end of Vol. I — where every figure in this collection walked at least once. Leshy passed through these trees. Rusalka's river is nearby. Chernobog's ravens roost in these oaks. The Krampus walked this path in winter. Baba Yaga knows this clearing well.
Some places were sacred before the churches. Some still are.
